Stress Therapy

Does Ongoing Stress Take A Mental, Physical, And Emotional Toll On You?

Are you overwhelmed by stressors at work and home?

Has being pulled in too many directions or wearing too many hats led to burnout?

Do you wish you knew a way to break out of the stress cycle and find renewed energy and focus?

If your current work-life balance has gotten out of whack, you may feel like there’s never an off switch. When you’re constantly on the go and don’t have enough time to recharge your batteries adequately, it can soon lead to mental fatigue, physical exhaustion, and a nagging anxiety that you’re never able to catch up on the things that are most important to you.

At Work, You Might Feel Stretched Beyond Your Limits

Perhaps at work, you struggle to focus on high-level projects because you’re constantly having to put out the small fires that crop up each day. Even on days when you block out downtime to recuperate, you may still end up investing energy into your work, leading to burnout and exhaustion.

Left unaddressed, ongoing stress can lead to unhealthy ways of coping, such as a poor diet, sleeplessness, or increased substance use. Stress can also negatively affect your relationships, both at home or and in the workplace.

The good news is that neurocounseling can help you manage stress more effectively. With short-term therapy that incorporates IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (IASIS), you can become more focused and relaxed, thereby improving overall brain function and reducing the symptoms of stress, burnout, and anxiety.

Work-Related Stress Is Extremely Common

If your career is a source of stress, you’re not alone. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), “more than 80 percent of US workers have reported experiencing workplace stress, and more than 50 percent believe their stress related to work impacts their life at home.” [1]

Although many of us have done all the right things to become successful, we didn’t bargain for the price we would pay to sustain it. Whether we’ve obtained degrees, landed a prestigious job, or launched our own business, keeping up with the demands that go along with your achievement can be overwhelming. To maintain success, we can’t rest on our laurels. We must always look forward while also ensuring the day-to-day runs smoothly. This ongoing pressure can make stress a constant in our lives.

We Often Feel Isolated

In addition to the pressure we put on ourselves to succeed, external factors—such as financial commitments, family obligations, and social norms—can exacerbate feelings of anxiety and overwhelm. Oftentimes, we feel alone when dealing with our sources of stress. Because we’re always so busy—and perhaps, reluctant to reveal our vulnerabilities to others—we’ve never found anyone we can confide in about how we feel.

If you’re dealing with chronic work stress, anxiety, and burnout, effective treatment solutions are available. In counseling, you can work with someone who can help you understand what contributes to stress and develop an effective management plan.

As a neurocounselor, I offer my clients a unique blend of therapy that not only targets stress reduction but also addresses the impact of underlying trauma. I aim to help you find long-term solutions that align with your values, goals, and unique life experiences.

If stress holds you back from achieving your full potential, IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (IASIS) can help improve memory and cognitive function, enabling you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. IASIS is not only more effective for stress reduction than most traditional talk therapy but also takes significantly less time to see results.

Think of it in terms of a ruler—if 12 inches represents the number of sessions, weeks, years, etc., it can take to heal in traditional therapy, IASIS usually requires only 3 inches. Most of my clients work with me for 2-3 months or less.

What To Expect In Stress Therapy

Our starting point will be to find out what you want to address. Whether you prefer a future-oriented plan or want to explore past experiences that may have led to unresolved trauma, we will collaboratively create a customized plan that suits your needs. I also like to learn about your values, interests, and talents and integrate them into your treatment goals.

To support overall stress relief, therapy will emphasize good self-care practices. This may include taking an inventory of your lifestyle—including sleep habits, diet, and exercise—as well as encouraging you to carve out time and prioritize the things you care most about.

Neurofeedback And EMDR Therapy For Stress Reduction

Unlike traditional talk therapy for stress, neurocounseling combines state-of-the-art IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (IASIS) with Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for optimal results. Not only can neurocounseling enhance peak performance by improving focus, but it can also help reduce the negative impact of trauma.

IASIS promotes healthy brain wave alignment, which in turn can increase your ability to manage stress more effectively. Initially, the changes can be subtle but are cumulative, leading to optimal brain function. Combining microcurrent neurofeedback with EMDR allows us to monitor your brain waves in real time, illustrating how shifting stressful thoughts with more positive ones promotes a healthier, coherent pattern.

Utilizing neurocounseling, you can reduce stress so that you work smarter, not harder, making room for future plans to flow easily in your thoughts. In addition to reducing anxiety, stress therapy can help you establish healthier boundaries and clearer expectations with loved ones so that your family connections thrive again.

With short and effective therapy that addresses unresolved trauma and stress, you will be reinvigorated. Utilizing IASIS and EMDR together, you’ll no longer feel like you’re drowning in overwhelm, shame, self-blame, and hopelessness. Instead, you’ll wake up each morning feeling refreshed and able to achieve your goals with more calmness and clarity.

But You May Wonder Whether Stress Therapy Is Right For You…

Life’s already too hectic and I don’t have time for stress management counseling.

The benefit of stress therapy with me is that we can customize your counseling sessions to fit your schedule. For example, some clients opt to meet with me for one intensive session and then follow up once or twice per month thereafter.

Others prefer to meet for multiple shorter sessions throughout the week, minimizing the overall duration of therapy. At our initial session, we can determine what works best for you.

How long does stress management therapy typically take?

Additionally, IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback and EMDR are shorter treatments for stress overall than traditional therapy. Generally, I only work with clients for 2-3 months, depending on their needs and preferences. Once we have a better understanding of your goals for stress relief therapy, we can come up with a plan that matches your needs and timeline.

What’s your background in stress therapy?

In my previous career in the corporate world, I experienced burnout first-hand. As a small business owner, I understand the unique challenges of starting, building, and maintaining an enterprise. Once I decided to become a therapist and get certified in IASIS microcurrent neurofeedback, I honed my ability to help clients move beyond burnout and sustain success.
