What to Expect

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Many clients arrive feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, stuck, or unsure of what’s happening in their brain and body. My goal is to make your first experience feel clear, calm, and supportive.

Your First Appointment

Before your initial session, I will carefully review the information you provided so we can use our time efficiently and intentionally.

During your first 50-minute session, we will:

  • Clarify what you’re experiencing

  • Identify patterns in your nervous system

  • Discuss your goals

  • Create a personalized plan using EMDR and/or IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive. That’s what I’m here for.

Follow-up sessions typically last 30–50 minutes, depending on your needs and the treatment approach we’re using.


What EMDR Is Like

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, research-supported therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer feel overwhelming.

Many clients describe EMDR as:

  • Focused

  • Grounding

  • Clarifying

  • Emotionally relieving

Rather than repeatedly retelling painful stories, EMDR works directly with how memories are stored in the brain, helping reorganize neural networks so your nervous system can settle and recalibrate.


What to Expect During an IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback Session

IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback is gentle, non-invasive, and relaxing.

During your session:

  • You’ll sit comfortably in a calm environment.

  • Small sensors will be placed on your scalp.

  • The system delivers very low-level microcurrents to support neural communication and regulation.

  • Most clients report feeling peaceful, clear, or deeply relaxed.

Hydration is very important. Drinking plenty of water before your session helps optimize results.

Up to 85% of clients report noticeable improvement within 1–3 sessions, though each brain responds at its own pace.

IASIS sessions are painless and require no effort from you — your brain does the work.
